What is a Pennsylvania Life Sciences Greenhouse?
Pennsylvania’s Tobacco Settlement Act (Act 77 of 2001) authorized the Department of Community and Economic Development to establish three regional Life Sciences Greenhouses to build on the state’s life sciences strengths and promote economic growth. Greenhouses may invest directly in startups. LifeX was designated the Life Sciences Greenhouse for Western Pennsylvania in 2022.
