
Researchers at the Human Engineering Research Laboratories (HERL), an institute under the University of Pittsburghβs schools of the health sciences and part of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, were awarded up to $41.5 million from the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) to reimagine a wheelchair and assistive robotic arm that will improve the independence, safety and quality of life for people with disabilities, including veterans.
